Just when you thought the Cavs were going to go into that quiet night and put an end to a challenging
season they pull off a move that once again puts the Cavs in a position to get back into the playoffs-
sooner rather than later.

What makes a coach special is when it's obvious that he or she has a positive effect affect on the student athlete that reaches outside the boundary of the playing surface. And when that is achieved that's when the kids run through the proverbial "brick wall" for them.

Aaliyah Currence: HUMBLE AND HUNGRY

Since I started covering High School sports the toughest thing to do was to cover my daughter and be able to portray her success without giving off the impression of being biased. If anything I went out of my way to make sure that never was the case which probably did her a disservice in the end. As I was writing the blog last week for the first time I just stepped back and took a look at her career taking dad out of the equation. And without a doubt, if I looked at it through just a media persons eyes, Aaliyah Currence would be at the top of the list for people I would want to interview for their successes on and off the field.

END OF AN ERA...Strasburg's tremendous twosome

To be one of the two best players on the team, not just in one sport, but three. To have the other best player be your twin brother, not just in one of those sports, but again all three. Add in consistent team success (including making the state tournament in golf), honor roll students, and complete respect from coaches, teacher, and peers, well it seems kind of fairytale-ish.
