Doug Davenport Service Award Winner January 21st, 2021

We are happy to announce a new award we will be giving out at Big Time Sports. The Doug Davenport Service Award. Doug Davenport was a fixture in Stark County hoops. He volunteered his services to a variety of schools like Jackson, Timken, McKinley, and GlenOak. He would devote countless hours helping young athletes hone their craft and improve not only their basketball skills but life skills as well. He loved basketball and helping young people succeed. Doug passed away in 2020 but his memory lives on and we look to honor that memory by honoring a student manager each week from schools across Stark County. At the end of the basketball season we will give out the award for the most deserving honoree.

Our 2nd award winner is Max Budziak who is the student manager for the Green Bulldogs boys basketball team. Max is currently a sophomore and this is his second season as a student manager of the team.

Max’s energy and enthusiasm each day at practice really helps the team  to focus each day and become the best players they can possibly be. Max is an invaluable member of the Green basketball program. Congratulations to Max!
