Doug Davenport Service Award Winner January 28th, 2021
We are happy to announce a new award we will be giving out at Big Time Sports. The Doug Davenport Service Award. Doug Davenport was a fixture in Stark County hoops. He volunteered his services to a variety of schools like Jackson, Timken, McKinley, and GlenOak. He would devote countless hours helping young athletes hone their craft and improve not only their basketball skills but life skills as well. He loved basketball and helping young people succeed. Doug passed away in 2020 but his memory lives on and we look to honor that memory by honoring a student manager each week from schools across Stark County. At the end of the basketball season we will give out the award for the most deserving honoree.
Our 3rd award winner is Jayden Brown, the student manager for the Massillon Tigers basketball team. Jayden has been a student manager for the Tigers for 2 seasons. He has been a great addition to the program.
On top of being an outstanding student, he is also a phenomenal young man. Jayden was a qualifier for the Outstanding Senior Boy award at Washington High School. He also helps work at the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon in the summer.
Congratulations to Jayden on the award!
