It wasn't enough for Dalton Bolon to star on the hardwood at Indian Valley High School and West Liberty University.
The former Braves and Hilltoppers standout continues to shine for the College of Charleston men's basketball program in Charleston, S.C.
So much so that he and his Cougar teammates are going dancing later this week.
Bolon, a graduate student, is averaging 12.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for the Cougars, who are coming off a Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Tournament.
The College of Charleston will travel to Orlando to take on San Diego State in the first round Thursday.
The Cougars are a No. 12 for tournament while the Aztecs received a No. 5 draw. Action will begin at 3:10 p.m. on truTV.
A son of Chip and Tami Bolon of Gnadenhutten, Bolon earned CAA Player of the Week for the week of Jan, 16 after a 18.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg week with wins of UNCW and Elon, including a career-high 6 threes made vs. Elon.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Bolon recorded his first double-double as a Cougar at North Carolina A&T in January with 22 points and 10 rebounds and he also tied a career-high with 22 points and nine made field goals vs. North Greenville.
Those numbers helped Bolon become a finalist for the 2022-23 Lou Henson National Player of the Year award announced last week. The recipient of the 2023 award will be announced in Houston, site of the national championship.
In his first season at Charleston, Bolon appeared in just three games during the 2021-22 campaign, averaging 9.points, 4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game at the season-opening Rising Coaches Classic.
He chipped in seven points in nine minutes before suffering a foot injury in the Cougars' victory over Loyola and was sidelined the remainder of the season with the injury, but received a medical hardship waiver to return for the 2022-23 campaign.
Bolon plans to be a Physician Associate beyond college as he earned his bachelor's degree in Biology at West Liberty in just three years. 
As a redshirt senior at West Liberty, Bolon was tabbed an NCAA D2 All-American for a third year in a row. He earned MEC Player of the Year honors, and Region Player of the Year recognition to add to his hardware and was named Male Athlete of the Year at West Liberty while he averaged a career-best 21.9 points per game and 8.1 boards per game. Bolon shot 53 percent from the field, 45 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from the free throw line. He scored 20 or more points 11 times and reached double figures in all 23 games he appeared in and posted six double-doubles during the COVID shortened campaign.
As a redshirt junior, Bolon bagged back-to-back NCAA D2 All-American (Basketball Times) honors and NCAA D2 Academic All-American recognition.
As a redshirt sophomore, Bolon earned NCAA D2 All-American (Basketball Times) honors and NCAA D2 Academic All-American recognition. Bolon scored 682 points (20.7 ppg.) with 211 rebounds (6.4 rpg.), shot 46 percent (216-474) from the floor, 41 percent (106-258) from the 3-point arc and 83 percent (144-174) from the foul line. He racked up 29 double-figure scoring games, five double-doubles and 21 games with 20 points or more.
Despite suffering a significant eye injury during the 2018 off-season, Bolon led the highest scoring offense in the nation with his 21 points per game. He needed multiple surgeries, but played with a patch on his eye the entire year.
A redshirt freshman at West Liberty, Bolon was named MEC Freshman of the Year, 2nd-team All-MEC and to the MEC All-Academic Team. Bolon averaged
16.7 ppg. and 5.4 rpg, led all NCAA D2 freshmen with 93 3-pointers and finished Top 5 among NCAA D2 freshmen in scoring and 3FGs/Game.
Before his college career Bolon was an All-Ohio Division II guard, averaging 20.7 points as a senior at Indian Valley.
He was named an All-Ohioan, Academic All-Ohioan and chosen to play in the North South Ohio All-Star game.
Bolon chose Charleston over Murray State, Akron and Indiana State, and was excited to finish his college career in the D-I ranks.
And he's mightily glad he did because he's going dancing.
